The original OEM cam belt was a Pirelli item, but Pirelli’s Italian belt division became part of Dayco Italy some time ago. As a result, many S4’s are running on Dayco cam belts, but these have been obsolete for several years now, and people who had stock tend to keep hold of them, which results in many of these amazing car’s sat in an unusable state because of old belts. Most of these cars don’t do enough miles to life expire a belt through use, but a toothed belt has a typical working life of 10 years, after which the rubber deteriorates to a point where its integrity is questionable, making any remaining old stock belts a questionable choice We have been working with Dayco for the last 12 months and as a result of much effort on both sides we now have stock of brand new S4 cam belts, made to the latest spec and with the current generation of Dayco materials.
